Our Mission
Why We Exist
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” — John 6:38
“And He who sent Me is with Me. He has not left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.” — John 8:29
“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.” — Philippians 2:8
Jesus was the perfect man's man, not because He was untouchable, but because He was completely obedient to the Father. Every step He took, every word He spoke, was surrendered to the will of the One who sent Him. That obedience wasn't weakness. It was the source of His strength.
“Saying, Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” — Luke 22:42
The Bible never promises that a life of faith will be easy. In His most agonizing hour, Jesus prayed honestly, asking that the cup be taken from Him only if it was the Father's will to do so, and then surrendered fully to that will regardless. That's the model for every man in this brotherhood. Obedience isn't the absence of fear or hardship, it's what carries you through it. When we bring our fear, our exhaustion, and our doubt to the Father in prayer, He meets us there and gives us the courage and strength to do His will anyway.
“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” — John 15:4
Obedience isn't a one time decision, it's staying connected to the source. A branch cut off from the vine can't produce anything, no matter how hard it tries. The same is true for us. When we abide in Christ, staying close to Him daily through prayer, His Word, and obedience, that's when we start bearing real fruit: in our marriages, in our fatherhood, in our churches, and in the communities we're called to strengthen.
Mission Statement
Operation Obedience exists to tear down the strongholds that keep men isolated, undisciplined, and spiritually adrift, through obedience to Christ, brotherhood with other men, and stewardship of the body and mind He's given us.
What We Believe
01. Obedience is the weapon.
Every stronghold, in the mind, the home, the church, the community, falls the same way: through obedience, not willpower. “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” — 2 Corinthians 10:5
02. This is a real fight.
The war we're in isn't against people. It's against the strongholds inside us and around us. We don't fight it with worldly weapons, but with divine power. 2 Corinthians 10:3-4
03. The body is not your own.
Physical discipline isn't vanity, it's stewardship. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and how you treat it matters. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
04. No man finishes alone.
Iron sharpens iron. Every man here needs other men, and every man here is called to sharpen someone else. Proverbs 27:17
05. Stand firm. Act like men.
This verse has become something of an anthem for men's ministries everywhere, and there's a reason for that. It says exactly what needs to be said, plainly, and no list of convictions for a ministry like this one would be complete without it. “Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” — 1 Corinthians 16:13
Where We're Starting
Operation Obedience is starting local, out of Central Indiana. We believe in building something real in one place before trying to build it everywhere. A strong, rooted community here gives us the credibility and the lessons we need to grow well, rather than growing thin.
